Internet Friends
January 11th, 2010
Happy Monday! (It’ll catch on). Everyone who uses Facebook and social sites like it has probably received a friend request from someone they don’t really know well. It’s kind of an awkward scenario! To accept, or not accept?! (There are only two buttons). Well, we all know you’re dying to hear what we have to say about it (right?).
People with opinions,
Jeff and Elliott
Dear Jeff and Elliott,
I just got a friend request on Facebook. I don’t want to be mean but it’s a person I barely know from highschool that I wasn’t friends with. What should I do?
Frazzled on Facebook
“Internet Friends”
Dear Frazzled,
Hey do you wanna’ sign this piece of paper, says you’re a friend of mine?
I know we never really hung out in highschool, and that’s just fine ’cause
I don’t really want to get to know you, I like it this way
I can look back and pretend I was friends with everyone in the good old days
This sounds absurd in real life
It’s not any different online
You have your friends and I have mine
I’m not here to remind you of your best years gone by
