If you keep up with the news today, then you know medical issues are not to be taken lightly. If you aren’t sitting pretty and you make an unwise decision, then you could go from care-free outdoor activities to living underneath an overpass wondering how the bank’s letters still manage to find you. So if you’re lucky enough to have a doctor, you should probably do what he or she says. If you don’t have a doctor then do what we say: Send us money. Wait, maybe we could be doctors…

Hoping this song finds you well,
Jeff and Elliott

Hey Jeff and Elliott,

So I sprained my knee really badly playing flag football last week. I am tired of using crutches but the doctor said to use them for a while longer. Should I listen to the doctor or brave the world with just my knee brace on?

All the Best,
Wobbly in Williamsburg

“Website: Not a Crutch”

Dear Wobbly,

While we appreciate the vote of confidence
We must confess, we’ve been slacking on our doctoring degrees
So thanks for trusting the life of your knee to us,
But we just don’t trust our doctoring abilities, or want to get sued

We’re sure you’ve heard that “mother knows best”
And we’re sure it’s not always true
But pretend the doctor is your own sweet mother
And do what the doctor mom tells you to do; because

Doctor’s and mom’s: they can be wrong
But most of the time they’re right
Keep the crutches going as long as they say
Because most of the time they’re right

We think you’ll find, when your knee’s all healed up
And your back to kicking ass at some flag football,
You’ll be glad you’re not limping on a knee that’s still rough
Because you chose to keep the crutches after all

And we’re really glad you’d come to us
For affirmation on your surgical dilemma
But once again we must digress
To reinforce the point of our lyrical amalgama

Doctor’s and mom’s: they can be wrong
But most of the time they’re right
Keep the crutches going as long as they say
Because most of the time they’re right
