Readers! (Listeners?) We’re excited to be seeing some new visitors from all over the web. Welcome! Did you know, you can subscribe to the Jeff and Elliott RSS feed and your feed reader will tell you when we deliver new music/advice? It’s true! There’s a link in the bottom left corner of the page that says “Get the RSS feed“. Not that Monday is a hard day to remember. It’s been a part of the week as long as we can remember.

We’re also still working on that site touch-up. Is there some functionality is lacking? Would you like to the minute updates of our favorite cereals? (We hope not). Is there something we’re doing right that you want to make sure we keep doing? Well, tell us about it.

Our door (the metaphorical one) is always open,
Jeff and Elliott

P.S. We’d like to thank our friend Tim Boyle for sitting in on the bass with us this week! (The guitar not the fish)

Dear Jeff and Elliott,

I have a company picnic coming up with an open bar. How do I know when enough is enough – as far as drinking goes? I don’t want to make an ass of myself in front of my boss and co-workers, but I also don’t want to seem like a stick in the mud!

Finding the line in Fargo

“It’s Kinda Like Advice”

Dear Finding the line,

The first thing you do is hire a camera guy
To discretely follow your boss around all night
Then another accomplice who can blend into the scene
Makes sure you boss never has an empty drink

If it’s not apparent by now
It’s kinda like blackmail
But hopefully you never have to use it,
Because then it’s blackmail

Which we don’t condone for obvious reasons, like illegality
It’s just a little friendly, shall we say, insurance policy
And with it in your back pocket, your protected from any inpropriety
Then the time is yours alone, and you can picnic with impunity

Picnic impunity
Like picnic diplomatic immunity

If the complexity and jail time make you think twice
You know your limits best and how much you can imbibe
If drinking without getting drunk is an order to tall
It’s also perfectly okay to not drink at all

If anyone has a problem with that
There’s always blackmail
I thought we went over this
We can’t recommend blackmail
